HOW TO MEASURE BRA SIZE

To calculate bra size, you need to take two measurements:

  1. under-bust and
  2. over-bust width.

TIP: Wear an unpadded bra. Stand with relaxed arms and shoulders.

Under-bust size measurement

Place the tape measure around your body underneath the bust, holding it straight with the centimetre side facing out.It should be held tight around the body.

Take your measurement immediately after exhaling.

TIP: The tape measure is not elastic but the bra is, so it is essential the tape measure is held firmly around the body when taking measurements.

Over-bust size measurement

Keeping the tape measure in the same position on your back move it up loosely over the fullest part of the bust, horizontally and with the centimetre side facing out. You will also need to take this measurement.

How to use our Bra Fitting Chart to determine your bra size:

  1. Find your underbust measurement along the top row to reveal your back size.
  2. Run your fingers down the column to find your over bust measurement.
  3. Move your finger across to the left to reveal your cup size.

How to Measure Panties Size

Follow our simple guide to measure your waist and hips accurately – these two key measurements are crucial for selecting the perfect pair of panties.

1. Waist Measurement

To determine your brief size, measure your waist circumference. Wrap the measuring tape snugly around the narrowest part of your waist (usually at or above the navel). Ensure the tape is level and not twisted for an accurate measurement. This waist measurement is key to calculating your ideal brief size.

2. Hip Measurement

Wrap the measuring tape snugly around the widest part of your hips, usually located about 7-9 inches below your natural waistline.

Tips: Use the fullest part of your buttocks as a reference point to ensure an accurate hip measurement.

Refer to the Fitting Chart to determine your brief size.

What is ABCD in bra sizes?

The letters ABCD in bra sizes refer to cup sizes, which indicate the volume of your breasts in relation to your ribcage. It's not about the actual size of your breasts, but the difference between your underbust (ribcage) measurement and your overbust measurement.

For example, if your underbust measurement is 86 centimeters (34 inches) and your overbust measurement is 96-98 centimeters (38-39 inches), the difference is 10-12 centimeters (approximately 4 inches). This typically corresponds to a cup size of A.

How often should my bra size be measured?

It's recommended to have your bra size checked every 6-12 months. Why? Your body changes over time! Weight fluctuations, hormonal shifts, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and menopause can all impact your bust size, making regular fittings essential for a comfortable and supportive fit.

How do I measure bra size without a measuring tape?

Don't worry if you don't have a flexible measuring tape handy! You can still determine your bra size at home. Simply grab a charger cord, a piece of string, or even some yarn. Wrap it around your bust and underbust, marking your measurements directly on the cord. Then, lay it flat and measure those marked sections with a ruler or a hard tape measure to find your bust and underbust measurements.

Tips for accurate measurements

1. First, check your waist measurement, then your hip measurement.
2. Remember, a well-fitted brief should feel comfortable and secure without digging in or riding up.

Sizing for panties: what size briefs should I wear?

Use the following steps to determine your panty size:

1. Take your measurements in inches or centimeters, rounding to the nearest whole number.

2. Once you have both your waist and hip measurements, refer to our Size Chart to determine your ideal brief size.

If your waist and hip measurements fall into different size categories:

  • For maximum comfort, choose the larger size. For example, if your waist measurement is a size small and your hip measurement is a size medium, choose a size medium panty.
  • For a snugger fit, opt for the smaller size.
How to know if my underwear is too small/big?

Look out for digging seams, red marks on your skin, or a constant need to adjust. Bulging skin, a rolling waistband, or that dreaded wedgie feeling are also telltale signs you need a different size or style. Not sure where to start? Learn how to find the right size underwear for you.

How should underwear fit?

Ideally, your underwear should feel like a second skin – snug but not constricting. The waistband should lie flat against your hips, the crotch should lay flat without bunching, and leg openings should be comfortably snug without digging. Your underwear should provide coverage without riding up or sagging.
